Kaarta, innovator of real-time 3D reality capture, today announced Stencil® 2, the next generation of its popular real-time, high fidelity 3D mobile scanning and generation system. Stencil 2 improves mapping accuracy and workflow with a new User Interface, GNSS localization, upgraded hardware, Confidence Metrics, and enhanced software intelligence.
“We have attracted top talent to join our team in transforming the way we capture and use 3D reality information, and Bob and Rob are no exception; both are immensely successful in starting and growing new technology ventures,” said Kevin Dowling, CEO of Kaarta. “We are fortunate to have their support and insight as we prepare to take our next innovations to market and grow Kaarta.”
Kaarta Selected by City of Pittsburgh to put 3D Modeling Technology to the test in Municipal Environments
Kaarta, innovator of the next big leap in 3D modeling, has been selected by the City of Pittsburgh and authorities to participate in PGH Lab; a unique opportunity for startups to test their products in real world environments under the guidance of government officials. Kaarta was one of five local startups chosen from 30 applicants for the program’s 2017 group.
Kaarta, innovator of the next big leap in 3D modeling, took first place for the second consecutive year at the Microsoft Indoor Localization Competition held at the IPSN 2017 conference. Not only did Kaarta achieve the best accuracy score overall, it did so in real time without the use of prior maps or any infrastructure such as beacons or ultrawideband radio and required no post processing.
Kaarta, innovator of the next big leap in 3D modeling, brings an unprecedented combination of ease, usability, speed, and accuracy to the market with the launch of Contour™ – an integrated, handheld device that enables 3D modeling from input to output in real time. Contour condenses the workflow process by eliminating time and cost and allows decision-making at the point of work.
Real Earth, the innovator of the next big leap in 3D modeling, today announced its corporate name change to Kaarta. The new identity draws inspiration from cartography, the art and science of map-making, and captures the company’s pioneering take on this practice – to reveal 3D models of the real world in real-time.
Real Earth, the pioneer in real-time 3D mapping and localization, secured first place in Microsoft’s Indoor Localization Competition recently held in Vienna, Austria. Real Earth achieved the top ranking through their algorithms embedded in their STENCIL product. It was the only product to perform real time indoor localization without the use of infrastructure.
