Stairways, termed a degraded environment due to narrow spaces, upward movement, feature-less walls and constant turning, are very difficult to do with traditional lidar or SLAM. This scan done with Contour provides a clear and accurate scan without any post-processing.

CASE STUDY: Two separate scans of a office complex set in the context of a city block with mixed retail, parking, restaurants and busy thoroughfare. Interior scan by Contour in 20 min. Exterior scanned with Stencil in under 30 minutes, included roof access and no aerial to provide complete cut-away. Very useful for zoning studies. Visualization shows office area color-coded by elevation. Gray area provides context.

CASE STUDY: Densely wooded area scanned with Stencil only with terrestrial scan that provided full coverage using a back and forth path with multiple use. Matched accurately against a dozen surveyed stakes in deep woods. Model can be cropped to provide precise tree location and diameters. Topography can also be seen by cropping to terrain.
